NewsletterMarch 26, 2025

Our school cross country will take place on, Tuesday 8 April at 1.40pm. Postponement date is Thursday 10 April.

We would love you to join us to cheer on your children as they conquer the long distance.  Details are as follows:

Time:

The cross country begins at 1:40pm on the bottom field.

Order of events:

Kowhai boys and girls

Year 2 boys

Year 2 girls

Year 3 boys

Year 3 girls

Year 4 boys

Year 4 girls

Year 5 boys

Year 5 girls

Year 6 boys

Year 6 girls

The finish:

All races finish on the bottom field.  According to our time trials, we expect the event to take approximately 60 minutes. The top finishers from each year group will be selected to represent our school at the Northern Zone Cross Country race later in the term.

The course:

Please note due to the works currently taking place around the school the course within the school has been altered to accommodate this.   Students will start on the bottom field, run one lap around the field, up the path, and turn right to run around the back of the hall, they will continue around the junior playgroup, and then make their way down to Woodmancote Street.

Where to spectate:

There are 3 places you can spectate:

1.    Bottom field turf, elevated concrete slab & new playground- behind the ropes

2.    Senior Playground

3.    Along Simla Cres or Woodmancote Road on opposite footpath to that being used by our runners

There will be a designated spectator zone on the bottom turf.  We ask that you stay off of the grass (and remain behind the ropes) as this is part of the course and may impact our runners.

Signing out:

Once your child finishes the race, they need to remain with the finish line marshals until all events are finished to record accurate results.

After that time, you will be able to congratulate your child.  You may also wish to sign your child out to go home for the day.  Please sign your child out with their Home Group teacher if you choose to leave before the bell, and not at the school office.

Thank you for your support.
