During the September school holidays eight students from around New Zealand travelled to Wellington to take part in the International Geography Olympiad selection day for the 2018 team to Quebec, Canada. 

More rugby success over the holidays with the highlight being James Te Pairi-Simpson being selected for the NZ U18 Maori Team to play against NZ Barbarian Schools and Tonga Schools. 

Celebrating sporting successes last week was Tame Govaerts-Paul when competing at the NZ Short Course Championships held at the Sir Owen Glenn National Aquatic Centre in the North Shore.

 Max was informed on Sunday night that he has been selected for the “Young Shakespeare Company” who will travel to London and perform at the Globe Theatre in London next year. His selection was based on the performance he gave in Wellington in the holidays and places him amongst the top 24 secondary school Shakespeare actors in New Zealand.

Congratulations to the Otago U15 footballers who won the South Island Tournament undefeated. 7 wins from 7. They beat Central Otago 2-0 in the final. 

Our Smallbore Rifle team finished 8th at the NZSSSC in Wellington and a special congratulations goes to Nic Brosnahan who was selected to shoot for the South Island against the North Island, who they beat. 

We had eight boys competing at the NZ Water Polo Championships in Auckland during the holidays. 

There has been some amazing work taking place in the Tech Department throughout the year, none less impressive than Kyle Burns' Bar Stools.
