Design
Could you be a designer? A successful designer needs to see further than what ‘looks pretty’ and delve into function. We explore a mix of design styles and dip our toes in a little further in areas of class interest.
What will be taught?
Students will begin to understand the elements and principals that underline many areas of design and use our new vocabulary to describe familiar designs. Balance, space, line and colour - they all play a role, whether
Students practice basic drawing skills along with concept sketches, along with the core design process of annotating ideas and refining designs from peer feedback and evaluation.
Our first module is usually product design. Students apply their skills to sketch and design a new product that serves multiple purposes.
The design process is reiterated depending on the interests of the group. It could be:
logo and graphic design
clothing and fashion design
animation
house design
