Kōtui Ako VLN Primary —

Hola! Learn the basics of speaking Spanish, the second most popular language in the world.

Overall:

Students will gradually build up a repertoire of everyday Spanish words and phrases they can use for meaningful communication.

Modules:

The programme includes introductions, greetings and farewells, likes and dislikes, location and includes exploring cultural elements of Spanish speaking countries.

Ways of learning:

In weekly scheduled Zoom sessions, students will practice reading and speaking in Spanish, interactive learning on Google Slides, and be supported to make connections with new words and phrases in order to make sense of the structure and retain vocabulary.

Independent learning:

Students will be encouraged to actively use what they're learning in the classroom and at home. Writing, reading and speaking will be a part of independent learning activities.

In the first 1-3 years of learning a language with Kōtui Ako students will cover the following:

Level 1 Students will be able to:
