THINK-then-TALK SOUTH KOREA

The North Asia Center of Asia-Pacific Excellence (NA CAPE) is pleased to invite entries for the THINK-then-TALK (South Korea) video competition. This activity aims to engage New Zealand students and provide them with a platform to share, exchange and gain knowledge of Korea in a creative way.

'TALK' what you 'THINK' about South Korea in a minute or less! Introduce yourself and share your insights on any of the questions below in a 1-minute (or less) video! Be creative as you talk your thoughts!

  • When you think of South Korea, what comes to mind?
  • Why do you think it is important for New Zealanders to know more about/engage with South Korea?
  • What can you do to enhance exchanges between New Zealand and South Korea?

ELIGIBILITY:

The contest is open to all New Zealand primary, secondary and tertiary school students.
***School teachers/staff may submit entries using their email on behalf of their students

VIDEO GUIDELINES:

  1. Video must be original and be between 30-60 seconds.
  2. Video must NOT contain profane and inappropriate content and language.
  3. Video may be shot using a cellphone or any device.
  4. Video may feature an individual or a group of individuals (but prize will be awarded PER entry).
  5. Video must have a title. Captions may be included but are NOT required. 
  6. Multiple video submissions are allowed but only 1 submission per entrant may win a prize.
  7. Any copyrighted material used in the video must be acknowledged.

***All valid video entries may be featured/posted by NA CAPE in its public and social media platforms with proper acknowledgment

HOW TO ENTER THE CONTEST:

(1) Submit your entry by registering through this link: https://airtable.com/shrqJrGEady2ZSG8Q

When you register, you may enter the link to your video or upload the video itself. Don’t forget to click SUBMIT.

(2) Submit your video no later than 15 April 2022

(3) Individual and group submissions are welcome but prizes will be awarded per entry, NOT per person.

For group submissions, registration must be made by one individual only and the group submission option should be ticked.

SCHOOL TEACHERS/STAFF may use their email address to submit entries on behalf of their students provided that they input the names of their students as participants.

(4) Only VALID entries that comply with the guidelines will be included for judging.

JUDGING CRITERIA:

35% big idea/insights
30% originality and creativity
20% visual appeal
15% compliance with video guidelines

PRIZES:

***5 winners will be selected and EACH winner will receive:
• $200 worth of Kpop dance/voice class at En Beat Academy
• $100 worth of New Zealand and Korean goodies
• Korean language book
***Winners will be contacted through the email they provided in the registration. Winners may also be invited to participate in various NA CAPE programs.
