Kia ora te whanau
Once again, we are grateful to be back in level 1and a normal week at school.
Our classrooms are buzzing with learning and there is just so much on offer for our Ladbrooks Learners.
In the RLC students have signed up to the William Pike Challenge Award and are already earning community service hours through the Sounds of Thunder, school gardening and helping with community planting events. WPCA is offered every second year for our Year 7 and 8 students and involves a year long commitment of 20 hours community service, 20 hours new skill learning and 5 physical activity challenges that test not only the children's physical but also their mental capabilities. I am so proud of the eagerness our tamariki have shown and their willingness to embrace a whole year of commitment.

The focus in the TLC
Across the whole school our kaimahi (staff) and tamariki have been learning their pepeha. Our aim is to have all kaimahi pepeha displayed around our school.
Children's University is underway and it is exciting to have 50 students taking part this year. We also have 5 students who have opted in to the VLN (virtual learning network) to connect with other students around Aotearoa as part of GaTE provisions (Gifted and Talented Education).
Adding in Zone Swimming and Weed Busters, after school on a Thursday, there is no doubt that all of our tamariki have the most amazing opportunities for learning.
We have book week coming up in week 7 - scroll down for more detailed information. This is a week that involves our tamariki and whanau and we are looking forward to celebrating our love of reading. Special thanks to the Fryer and Scoulding families for organising such an exciting week and PALS for supporting books for all.
Enjoy a well deserved weekend!
