Environment group - update

We are proud to announce that the Food Technology area has now a compost bin to start our journey in reducing organic waste in our landfill.

Tena koe to everyone who is using our new bins opposite the canteen properly through separating their rubbish - more like this are to come around the school.

The Logan Park High School Envirogroup has a new announcement. We have come up with suggestions for your whanau to limit environmentally unfriendly transport options.

Here are 3 possible tips you could begin using at the start of Term 4:

  1. If you have to drive to school you could be dropped off a little bit before you reach Butts Rd (this could be near the stadium or near places like Megazone). This limits wing mirror clipping and congestion as well as having a convenient place to meet up with your friends at the start of the day.

  2. You could make one day in the week an active transport day. On Tuesday for instance you could walk, bike or take the bus to or from school. This one day could eventually turn into two days which turns into three days, then four days, then five days. Or you might try a different mode of transport for a day or two. You might have never ridden in a bus or on a bike or scooter etc.

  3. Experiment with using active transport methods to get home from school. Unless you have something that is urgent it can be a nice relaxing way to get home. You can do this because there’s no time problems like there is with getting to school from home.
