Alliance Francaise - concours oral

On Saturday, the 9th of September, nine students from LPHS took part in the annual French Speech Competition at Columba College.

It was a great opportunity to meet students from other schools, taste some delicious French fare and then be tested on how well our students could communicate their ideas in French to a Francophone judge.

Bon, it was a fantastic learning experience and our three Year 10 students impressed with their diverse speeches - Madeline Russell came first with her presentation on her top three pastimes, Carlos Racz came second with his speech on the importance of swimming for him and Charlie Milne presented a beautiful homage to David Moir, his grandfather who had started this competition but sadly died this year.

Our team of two year 9 students won the quiz and our senior students took part in the oral part of the DELF exam which is fairly new to LPHS and assesses interacting in French on a very high level - now we know what to prepare for when we go next year!! Watch the space. Génial, tout le monde et vous pouvez être fiers de vous.
