Year 13 Geography Trip to Queenstown by Michelle Summerfield

Year 13 Geography Trip to Queenstown

On the 16th of August, Year 13 Geography headed off on our field trip, this year to Queenstown, to study cultural development in the area.

Over three days, we were treated to three different talks, focusing on the local economy, Queenstown’s tourism development over time, and the significance of the Queenstown airport. The talks are very helpful for our NCEA exams.

During our time away, we also participated in several cultural activities to aid our understanding of the Queenstown environment. This included a look into the AJ Hackett bungy center, a visit to Fear Factory, and a few stops at iconic places like Patagonia. We really bonded as a group and enjoyed the experience of being away from the typical learning environment in our final year of Geography. Our time in Queenstown was equal parts informative and enjoyable, with a good time had by all.

Particular thanks goes to Ms Summerfield and Mr O’Farrell, for facilitating such a fantastic learning experience.
