From the 12th of March to the 15th of March Logan Park held a Year 13 Leadership camp at Tautuku Lodge in the Catlins attended by sixty Year 13 students.

Writers’ Club got off to a great start with playwright Tim Hambleton speaking to our group on Friday 19th March.

A number of our students helped to organise the Dunedin Climate Strike in April.

57 students had an absolutely wonderful time at the Music Camp at Tirohanga on 26 till the 28th of March.

Our Senior A Boys team competed in the nationals in Wellington in April.

Throughout late 2020 and early 2021, we (Paxton Hall and Beanjamin Mead) sat several tests for the NZ Chemistry Olympiad.

This year all our students who are learning Korean got to connect with Korean students studying English in Korea.

In March we enjoyed meeting parents and whanau of our 2021 Year 9 students.

Over the weekend of the 19/20th of March five bagpipers from the John McGlashan College Pipe Band (of which several LPHS students are members) competed at the RNZPBA National Pipe Band Championships. Everyone had an awesome time, and all played extremely well.

It was an amazing eight weeks of futsal for our three girls teams during Term One.

Term One, one Year 9 Social Studies class went for a walk up to the Northern Cemetery to draw a precis sketch of our harbour and the surrounding landscapes.

During Wellness Week (Week 9, Term 1) students from the Level 2 Health Education class implemented a variety of Health Promotion Campaigns within the Logan Park community.

La troisième (Year 10 French) went to the cooking room in Term One and prepared some beautiful dishes, ranging from pain au chocolat and crêpes to une tarte au pesto et tomates – the recipes came from our French pen pal class and we tried them out! C’était délicieux!

Paxton Hall and Alexander Sun were selected to attend the NZ International Biology Oympiad training and selection camp in the April holidays.

Talchum (탈춤) could be characterized as a Korean dance performed while wearing a mask, mimicry, miming, speaking, and even sometimes singing.

At the end of Term One the Year 9's have all embarked on our 'Book Tasting Experience'. They had the opportunity to 'sample' a number of books in a restaurant-style setting.

Thanks to all the teams that entered for Tennis in Term 1 – the standard is getting better all the time and I am sure we will have some more teams entering the competitive grade in Term 4.

We had a strong team competing at the South Island Secondary Schools Athletics Champs in April.
