On Tuesday and Wednesday fourteen students, a student helper and two teachers from our school participated in innovative and creative technology workshops at part of the Aupaki Tech Fest 2019 event.

Students participated in workshops which included 3D printing, Sphero Winter Olympics, Scratch & Makey-Makey, e-Textiles, music to my ears using GarageBand, App Creator, Stop-Motion Movie Making and Coding with BBC Microbit. It was fantastic to see the level of engagement and motivation shown by all students and was a fantastic opportunity to work alongside other students within our Kahui Ako.

For Techfest I did "Stop Motion". We got to make a movie about whatever we wanted. My movie was about a lego character who fell into the snow face forward. We watched a video on how to make a Stop-Motion video and then made our own. I found it easy.  Scarlett

For Techfest I did "e-Textiles".  We had to stitch our own toy and add a glowing eye with a light. We also made a bookmark with conductive tape. I found it challenging as I kept on making mistakes but now I can do it.  Leah

For Techfest I did "Music to my ears - GarageBand". I learned lots of good skills on GarageBand and new styles of music. I created a sound track based on the movie 'Tron'.  It was really fun.  Tom

For Techfest I did "App Creator". I did a tutorial to learn how to do it. It wasn't as easy as I thought it would be.  I made a book.  George

Thank you to Orry for your support and leadership with the Scratch & Makey Makey workshop.
