My day started really rough but doing mindfulness with Jase calmed me down . I really enjoyed it.    By Holly

Whenever I get angry I can calm myself by breathing three times. By Luisa

I learned how to calm down by doing a pose called Jedi. At the start of the lesson we closed our eyes and did a karakia to help us calm down our brain. We did a tree pose and this was tricky for some people to keep balance.  I found it really easy.    By Florence M

I found the session with Jase to be really peaceful and a good way to stretch my muscles.  It calmed me down alot.    By Eve

M3 is a mindfulness programme - it's fun, accessible, modern and interactive! M3 works off the Māori 'Hau Ora' model - Te Whare Tapa Whā. Children cultivate a healthy body, mind and soul, as well as learning a sense of connection to others.

It employs three components:

Taha hinengaro/ Taha wairua - Mindfulness

Through breath techniques and visualisation, tamariki gain a sense of presence. Each session works with a takeaway theme such as peace, calm, happiness, gratitude.

Taha tinana - Movement

The strengthening and stretching elements of yoga are used to teach tamariki connection to body through storytelling.

Taha whānau - Māori Stories

The telling of our Māori stories and legends enable tamariki to connect to our rich Aotearoa - based culture. A sense of belonging is instilled.
