Year 7/8 Technology MKR Competition a hit!

The MKR challenge was offered to all three primary school rotations of Technology at Manawatu College by teacher Miss Lisa Frith.  The challenge requires a lot of work outside the classroom and obviously needs a high level of independence. Only one group (this one) took up the opportunity. 

The group have been working on their instant restaurants for about 6 weeks. The 'assessment' was that their guests critiqued them on certain criteria. 

The girls worked very hard to create their masterpieces of chicken kebabs with salad and peach and mango trifle. They made the ice cream themselves and the mango dressing for the salad from scratch too!

The Year 10 Manawatu College and Cornerstone Christian School Food Tech classes are also completing this challenge, one a week over the next four weeks, so things are pretty hectic in the D block kitchens!
