On Friday 31st March our year 10 cohort, along with Miss Park, Mr O'Sullivan, Miss Gleeson and Mr Beckman went to see the Science Roadshow, held at Queen Elizabeth College in Palmerston North.
The Science Roadshow offered the students, teachers and accompanying parents an opportunity to explore various science and technology concepts by ‘touch and feel’.
Each of the exhibits were set up according to their themes. Each exhibit has a context board which included information about how to use the exhibit, the science behind it, and where such things occur in everyday life.
A number of the exhibits also had student explainers — senior students from the host school, Queen Elizabeth College, who were there to assist our students gain the most from their Roadshow experience.
What a wonderful hands-on experience for our students!
The day concluded with a pizza lunch in the Esplanade before the students returned to school to take part in the Summer Sports competition.
A big thank to the parents who came along to ensure the trip was a success.
