On Friday 26th May our students dazzled a big crowd in Palmerston North at the Stage Challenge Manawatu final.
The Stage Challenge is a national competition where students dance, act and present design spectaculars in eight-minute performances at 11 regional finals across New Zealand.
The Manawatu final took place at The Regent, with acts promoting healthy eating, personal growth and camaraderie.
This years Manawatu College entry was the story of the 'Raurimu Rampage'.
Eight teams competed in the Manawatu final, including Manawatu College, Rangitikei College, Horowhenua College, St Mary's Diocesan, Central Hawkes Bay High School Waiopehu College and Wanganui High School teams.
Waiopehu College, in Levin, took out first place. Central Hawkes Bay came second and Wanganui Girls High School were third in the competition.
Our students were superb! They performed outstandingly and they should all be very proud of their efforts! They won Excellence Awards for:
-Performance Skills
-Costume and Character
-Set Design
-Choreography
-Stage Challenge
A big thanks to Mrs Reid, Mr Webb and Miss Saussey for all of their hard work and effort in ensuring the event was a success. Also a big shout out to Alexcia Whaitiri who did everyone's hair on the night. It was much appreciated!
