The MKR challenge was laid down to the Y10 rotations of Food Technology at Manawatu College by teacher Miss Lisa Frith.
The challenge requires a lot of work outside the classroom and obviously needs a high level of independence.
On Monday 29 May two of our Year 10 MKR teams cooked for their Instant Restaurant and parent guest judges.
Group 1: Adam Coyle, Zeth Scarlett and Dion Robinson cooked Gurnard in a butter sauce and a Chocolate log with ganasche.
Group 2: Tristan Smith and Nahum Puppyn cooked Bacon and Egg pie and Apple Pie.
On Tuesday 6 June Group 3: Bayley Stella, Hannah Pickworth and Tempest Pitcher created a Galaxy themed Instant Restaurant. The students made everything from scratch, including the ice cream!
