Kia ora koutou katoa. What a term it has been! As we finish up Term 3 and start our school holidays, I have been reflecting on the disruptions we have had due to Level 3 lockdowns, but more importantly the great learning that has occurred. Our classrooms have been buzzing with excited children learning, collaborating and communicating with each other.

This week is a Chinese Language Week. Global Citizens Club members have celebrated it and discussed different aspects of Chinese Language. We are so lucky to have many bilingual students at our school, who can read, write and speak in at least two languages. It was very interesting listening to the contributions they made about their heritage language. We talked about Mandarin written language features, script, symbols and much more.

Wheels Day Report 🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️

by Melanie Dixon

What a great turn out we had of bikes and scooters for our Walking and wheels day. Sam and Matt, from Auckland Transport, spoke to our children about riding bikes and scooters safely, which included safely crossing the road and being aware of sneaky driveways. The children enjoyed their sessions and will hopefully remember the road safety rules when walking, cycling and scooting to school or in the holidays.

Year 3 Science Day

by Year 3 Teachers

Wow! What a Terrific Tuesday we had this week in Year 3. With awesome science experiments in all three Year 3 classes, it was difficult to decide which was our favourite experiment. The oobleck in Room 21 was certainly a big hit. The coffee filter flowers in Room 20 were really beautiful. In Room 19 the highlight was probably the fizzy sherbet (hygiene practices were monitored).
