Principal’s Message

by Sue Cattell

Kia ora koutou katoa. We often talk about the many opportunities our children receive, opportunities that are many and varied. One such amazing opportunity happened last weekend for our dance group who performed with the Auckland Symphony Orchestra at the Bruce Mason Centre for the Last Night of the Proms. From the dancing, to their appearance, to the way they smiled and were fully engaged, to their manners and respectfulness backstage, I was so proud to be there and know they were from Milford School.

Room 8 Report

by Loren Morris

The Year 2 children are learning about how, throughout time, significant people and their actions have changed people’s lives today. In Room 8 we have been reading lots of inspirational stories about significant people and the children are very engaged in their learning. Here are Mikaere and MacKenzie using their research skills to find information about Jonah Lomu and Sir Peter Blake. The children will share their findings with the class.

Room 9 Report

by Jessica Vader

In Room 9. we held an auction as part of our conceptual inquiry into how economies work. One of the prizes was to win a prize that could be gifted to a member of staff that their group appreciated, who wasn't a regular teacher. Karson, Adam, Tomi and Daniel won and soon asked if they could gift their prize to not one, but TWO staff members - Mr Jury and Mrs Jury.

PRODUCTION COSTUME Request!

by Sara Baker

Do you have a school blazer, tie and shorts/skirt that we would be able to borrow for a couple of weeks in September? It doesn't matter which school it is, the two don't have to be the same, and it would preferably be for a school that isn't local to Milford. Two of our main characters wear school uniforms, more of a formal type, with a shirt, tie, blazer etc. The sizes we need are around a size 10 for the boys and an 8 for the girls. We promise to take good care of the uniform and have it back to you washed. If you can help, please contact Sara Baker at sara.baker@milford.school.nz
