Visit this articleThe Gateway Programme gives Year 11 - 13 students the opportunity to experience work in an industry of their choice. It also allows students to gain credits towards a qualification within that particular industry. The benefit to employers is knowing they are helping the local community by supporting our tamariki to gain valuable work experience, along with having the potential to view a possible future employee. This year several of our students were offered an apprenticeship within the engineering, heavy diesel and building sector. We wish them well for their next step of training on the job. Several other students have gained either full, or part-time employment and/or entered into continued industry training.
