Last Saturday evening senior students were busy pulling on dresses and suits, eagerly awaiting the night ahead. At 7pm, as cars drove up to the Rutherford Hotel and students stepped inside, it was clear that this year’s ball would be one to remember.

Manaaki cafe is run out of a converted classroom 2 lunchtimes a week.

Manaaki Café is open for business

This term has seen the welcome return of the Manaaki café. Run by Hospitality and Catering students, the café sees a classroom being turned into a fully operational café for two lunchtimes a week. Customers can make bookings at the school Business Centre.

Poorman Valley Stream not so poor anymore

Due to the work of our diligent NEST group, (Nayland Environment and Sustainability Team,) the school has received a $1100 grant to aid in preserving Poorman Valley Stream.The grant, which has been supplied by Enviroschools and the Nelson City Council, will be used by the NEST group to continue testing the water in the stream and other environmental initiatives.
