Local radio waves have been spiced up with a new addition over the last few weeks. Reviving an old Nayland tradition, teacher John Valentine has handed over his own regular environmentally and socially conscious Fresh FM slot, Pale Blue Dot, to a small group of committed Nayland students.

When your teen will be allowed to drink alcohol is one of the many decisions that you as a parent have to make. The law in New Zealand states that there is no legal alcohol drinking age, only a legal purchase age of 18 years.

An exciting addition comes to Nayland College's physical and outdoor education departments this year, as Kristel Leijten joins the staff.

The annual regional Ngā Manu Kōrero competitions were held on Friday 25th May at the Headingly Centre in Richmond where schools from across the Top of the South were represented by their speakers and kapa haka groups.

Nayland College recently joined the four other local colleges for a combined 'Big Ideas' trip to Wellington. The focus of the trip was for senior students to be challenged to think big and explore mind-bending topics.

Nayland College is a very progressive school with many transgender students with varying gender identities and expressions. However, with these different identities, the college must be accommodating of the different needs of the students, such as facilities like toilets and changing areas.
