Principal's Message to Alumni, January 2022

As alumni and friends of Nayland College we value your connection and contribution to our college. Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me if you have an idea about how you could assist our school or students.

Dear past students and friends of the school

I am so proud of all the achievements our students continue to have in such a wide field of pursuits. I encourage you to browse through this Alumni Update, which outlines many of our stories and successes from 2021.

It was an absolute pleasure to watch the triumphs and challenges our students had throughout last year, which was another tumultuous year for the school and the world. You will see from the many articles in this newsletter that Nayland College students continue to excel in academic, sporting, artistic, outdoor, community and cultural pursuits.  I am always amazed by the wide and varied talents that our students have across a vast range of activities.

Next year I have been fortunate to be appointed as the Lead Principal for the Stoke Tahunanui Kahui Ako (Community of Learning). This additional responsibility requires me to expand the leadership team to further support the day to day running of the school.  We will also be aligning pastoral management of the school into our five house structure. Congratulations to Hannah Banks, who has been appointed as Associate Principal and to Gavin Millar and Bruno Watkins, who have been appointed as Assistant Principals to join our Deputy Principals Trevor Olley and Rowan Taigel in 2022.

We would also like to congratulate our 2022 House Leaders and Associate House Leaders who have been appointed to their new positions as listed below:

I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved in making Nayland College such a wonderful, vibrant organisation over the past year. As always, please stay in touch - we love hearing news from our alumni!
