Sunhat Safety- Really Important!
If you have a school hat you will notice that it has this little black clip on the string. This is designed to break away to prevent strangulation if a child was to have their hat caught on a piece of play equipment.
Some children have had these break, and they have been either sewn or tied to fix them. Unfortunately this is not safe as it will not release in an emergency.
If your clip is broken, please consider removing the string entirely, or replace the clip with velcro that will easily come apart under pressure.
