School Attendance

School attendance is an area that has continued to be highlighted in the media, and is something we continue to monitor.

Under the Education and Training Act 2020, attendance at school is compulsory, and the government is keen to ensure children are at school unless they are genuinely ill.

We know that patterns of non attendance or lateness sets a pattern that escalates hugely at secondary school, and want to give our ākonga the very best opportunities we can.

So far this term regular attendance, (meaning tamariki have been at school 90% or more) is sitting at 93% - with 130 children having been at school every day so far!

That is awesome - and a record we want to continue throughout the year.

Well done all!
