It’s Time To Make A Change
During the first two weeks of Term 2, Room 15 was all about politics. We formed our own Political Party with friends and in all we had 9 parties aiming to win the class vote for week 3.
The party my friends and I created was called "Newlands First," and we had the chance to choose our own party leader. Our party's goal was to enhance room 15 with policies focused on modern learning practices, including the integration of AI. I designed posters, a website, and prepared a speech for our campaign day. We delivered the speech effectively, and it appeared that our classmates liked it. We had questions asked of us from the audience and we were able to respond to them confidently.
On election day, we felt nervous and uncertain about whether our classmates liked us enough to vote for our party and the policies we presented. Unfortunately, we ended up in second place, with "ECONATION" emerging as the winner. I wasn't disappointed; "ECONATION" had good policies too. On the bright side we did manage to secure 12 votes, which was a positive outcome since a significant portion of our class supported our party.
Looking ahead to the next week, we had the opportunity to form a coalition with another party, which could increase the chances of our voice being heard in class.
