Alex HORN - February 8, 2019
Welcome back! We had a short but action packed week and it's only going to get more packed from here on out!
For those of you who were unable to come to the Community Evening, here is a link to the slide show.
Reading
We started reading groups on Day 2 of the school year, all the children have been transitioning to their reading space and working with their reading teacher each day. We are learning about the routines and expectations of self managing in a Year 2 reading class.
Writing
Writing groups start in Week 2, this week we have been learning about how to set up and use our writing journals and have been writing some short free choice stories as we learn how to do this.
Maths
Maths groups and Maths Whizz will be starting in Week 3, we are staying in Whanau Classes and learning about measurement until then.
Swimming
We will be swimming on Tuesday and Wednesday each week as long as the weather allows. On Tuesdays when we are not in the pool during swimming time we will be having some dry land lessons on water safety.
