Miss Doig, Mrs King and Mrs Griffiths - (Miss Brash) have spent this week planning and preparing our new learning space to welcome back our learners on Monday 3 February.

We are looking forward to seeing you all on Monday and hope our students are excited about learning in our new Hub in 2020.

You can contact Hub 2 teachers at this email address: hub2@oaklands.school.nz

We hope you will contact us if you have questions, we also welcome you to come in and visit us in person. We want to support and guide your child's learning and wellbeing in any way we can.

On Monday morning when you arrive at school ......

1. Find your bag hook it will be in one of the 3 spaces 14a, 20 or 21.

2. Keep everything in your bags, please.

3. Greet your teachers.

4. Place your drink bottle on the bench.

5. Explore our new learning space.

6. Introduce your parents to your teachers if they have come with you.

7. Hang out with your friends or play a game until the bell goes.

8. When the bell goes come and sit on the floor in the Whanau Zone in room 14a.

What's happening this week?

The timetable above will show you our learning for Week 1. We will be spending time getting used to our new hub, practising transitioning, setting up routines, getting everyone familiar with the new environment and seeking student voice as to how we can make improvements. We will also do a tour of the school to see the changes, where we can and cannot go and go over playground expectations.

Swimming will be on Tuesday and Wednesday. All students need to bring their swimming gear on these days. If there is a reason for your child to not be swimming please contact your hub teachers.

Our teachers have done some PD this week about the Water Skills for Life programme which we will be running this year. Swimming is part of the NZ Curriculum for all students.

Corona Virus - Please ensure you have read the information in the Newsletter. If you have travelled to China recently please ensure you wait 14 days before your child returns to school.

We will go over handwashing but if you can express the importance of this to your children it would be very helpful.

We look forward to seeing many of you at the Community Evening on Tuesday 4 February, starting at 5:30 pm.
