The students this week have taken responsibility for their learning by knowing the rotations and making sure they are in the right place at the right time.

In Reading, we have begun settling into our normal routine. The students have shown great management skills through using the rotations boards and discussions within their reading groups to be able to figure out where they need to go next. We have been extremely proud of the year 2 students showing initiative and taking responsibility for themselves as learners.

In Writing, we have been writing about what occurred in the weekend. From this students have had some fantastic stories about going to the Antarctic Centre, the circus, for rides on motorbikes and so on. It is awesome to see students writing passionately and being proud of their work when sharing with others.

In Maths, we have been using our new knowledge of pictographs to help us form tally charts and bar graphs. The students and teachers have thoroughly enjoyed this as not only are we learning Maths skills but we are also getting to know each other regarding our favourite colour, animal, lolly and more!

In Swimming, the students have shown lots of confidence in getting into the pool. This week we worked on our water skills with Paula from Water Skills for Life, including kicking, floating, swimming short lengths, blowing bubbles, using noodles and collecting rings from the bottom of the pool. All students have given it their best go and have impressed us with their skills.

After morning tea and lunch we check in with students to see who had a good playtime and if anyone had any issues that need resolving. As students have gotten to know the Hub 2 teachers more and develop those relationships students have been great at coming forward and talking with one of us if they are caught up in a tricky situation or simply wanna have a chat about something.
