Bully Free Week
For Bully Free Week we created a "Reach Out and Help" mural, played "Kindness Bingo", created a "Safe Zone Map", read and watched anti bullying stories such as "Oat the Goat" and came dressed up in style on Friday in our fancy pink clothes.
Support Staff Day
On Thursday we celebrated out awesome Support Staff. We couldn't do anything if not for them so thank you!
Reading
In Reading this term Mr Horn has been having mystery novels each week. He wraps them up and gives us clues throughout the week what the book might be. Then on Friday we unwrap the book and read the mystery novel, followed by creating a piece of art inspired by the book.
In Week 1 we read "A Porcupine Named Fluffy" and created animals with ironic names.
In Week 2 we read "A Paperbag Princess" and made some paper bag clothes.
This week we read "Beep! Beep! Go to Sleep!" and made colour and cut robots.
The first clue for next week's mystery novel is "Ewww!"
Writing
This week we wrote about Bully Free Week and the things we have been doing to mark the occasion.
Maths
In Mr Horn's maths class we have been learning about fractions, splitting numbers into fractions and sorting fractions from biggest to smallest. Mrs Brown has been teaching us about forwards and backwards skip counting.
On Thursday we began to learn about the Place Value House and the crazy number families that live there (Were looking at you Ones family and 10 from the Tens family!). Next week we are going to find out which number is the craziest, strangest number of them all!
Topic
We have been learning about particular habitats and the dangers facing those habitats and the animals that live there. This week we started to learn about the arctic, next week we will be learning about the rainforest.
Music
We have been learning the Rad Rhythm piece "The Train" and making a lot of noise with drumsticks!
What's Coming Up...
