It was great to be able to meet so many parents on Monday and Tuesday at our Goal Setting meetings - thank you to those who were able to attend. If you were unable to make a meeting, please contact you whanau teacher to organise a suitable time.

Maths

This week in maths we have been out and about measuring different things within the classroom and throughout the school. Take a look at the photos of us getting creative and using our arms, legs, bodies and hands to measure.

Reading

In reading we have continued getting to know our teachers and classroom expectations. We should be bringing home a new book nearly everyday and reading it at home.

Writing

We started up our writing classes this week which has been a lot of fun. Miss van Gelder's class wrote about where their feet took them this summer, Mr Horn and Miss Chadinha looked at Water Crystals and Miss MacFarlane's class used their imagination to write about the Magic Tree.

Swimming

We were very VERY lucky to be able to swim twice this week - it was a great way to escape the heat which had us all melting.

Topic

This term we will be learning about building relationships and growing as a learner. We took on the challenge of making a stained glass window (something that will continue on into next week). We also learnt about the learning pit (ask your child for an explanation) and sticking with a task even when it gets hard.
