Here's what happened this week!

Reading

We have begun doing reading tests on the students, now is a good time to check in with your child's reading teacher to get an idea on where they are up to and where they are going. We may make some changes in the coming weeks based on this testing.

Writing

In writing this week we have used the following hooks to inspire our writing.

- In Miss Macfarlane's class we made popcorn and watched a super slow motion video of popcorn popping.

- In Miss van Gelder's class we inflated a balloon using a chemical reaction.

- In Mr Horn and Miss Chadinha's class we made milk move by using dish washing liquid on a cue tip.

Maths

Maths Whizz is going well, we have become very good at logging in. If you are doing any Maths Whizz at home it is important to let your child answer the questions themselves. If you are other family members answer the questions for them Maths Whizz will start giving them harder and harder questions they may not be able to do.

Topic

We have started our Keeping Ourselves Safe unit. So far we have been focused on what is different about us now compared to when we were younger and what we like about ourselves. We have just started talking about how families can be different.

Art

Some children have nearly finished their Stained Glass Windows. It is a real test of patience and resilience to get these done.

Swimming

While the weather is starting to turn, the pool is still open. Bring your togs on Tuesday and Wednesday for our swimming times.
