Alex HORN

A look back at the fourth week of the term.

Reading

Our reading groups are going really well. In each class we have very targeted, needs based guided reading programmes running.

Next week we will be sending home some old favourites as we will be doing some Running Record testing on some of our readers and may not be able to read with each group each day.

Writing

Our writing hooks this week were:

With Miss O'Loughlin - Caterpillars video

With Mr Morehu - People are Awesome video

With Mr Horn - What happened to the water in the pool?

Maths

We started moving into our guided groups this week. We also had our Maths Whizz training.

Maths Whizz passwords are glued into Home Communication books if you want to have a go at home.

We will continue to use Maths Whizz in our guided maths programmes for the rest of the school year.

PE - Swimming

So the pool is fixed. Turns out band-aids had clogged up the filter so the pool drained out. Now that the bad weather has also moved on we will be swimming again next week on Tuesday and Wednesday.

However, on Tuesday we will be swimming in the morning as part of our swimming fun day.

Library

We will be going to the library on Thursday afternoons.

Values

We had our first Values Lesson of the term, focusing on the classroom. Follow the link to our Whanau Hui slideshow to watch the videos related to this.

What's Happening Next Week?

- Swimming Fun day is on Tuesday, we would love to see you!

- Mr Horn will be on ICT release on Tuesday morning.
