Reading

This week and next week we will be bringing home browsing box books. Browsing box books are books at a level lower than what we are working at in class and are usually books we have read before.

Writing

We have started using our writing journals. Writing Journals are free choice writing where we get to be creative and expressive, journal writing wont be marked or graded and is a chance for us to practice and write about whatever we want to. 

Guided writing programmes will begin next week.

Maths

This week maths has been integrated into our learning plan, next week we will start learning about Statistics and Probability, with full maths programmes starting later in the term.

PE - Swimming

We were able to get in ahead of the rain on that scorching hot day and go for a swim, it was very refreshing and a lot of fun.

The Year 2 Blue Hub will be swimming on Tuesdays and Wednesdays until the pool closes.

Integrated Topic - Learning Plan

This week are learning about learning. We have been learning about having a growth mindset, the power of the word TRY and YET. We have also been learning about perseverance and THE DIP. Below are the first chapters of the series of Class Dojos videos that we watched to support this learning.

What's Happening Next Week?

- Writing programmes start next week

- Assembly on Monday will be whole school at 2pm

- No school on Tuesday due to Waitangi Day

- Miss O'loughlin will not be in class on Thursday as she will be in leadership meetings
