All enrolments close 4pm Thursday 18 August, this includes siblings and daughters of ex-girls.


Closing date for NCEA fees to be paid to the school is 31 August. If you are applying for financial assistance the final date is 19 August. Payments made after this date will be made to NZQA directly and will incur a late penalty.

23 August - Student Learning Conferences/Year 9 Wellbeing Day

26-30 August - Ski Trip

28-30 August - Economics trip to Wellington

29 August - 2 September - Winter Tournament Week

31 August - Final date for payment of NCEA fees to the school

Week 6

5 September - Subject Selection Evening 5-6.30pm

6 September  - Sports Awards start time 7pm.

Sailing 

Sailing Coaching Camp in Rarotonga

In the recent July school holidays five students from Years 9 to 11 attended a sailing coaching camp in Rarotonga. During their years at Otago Girls’ these sailors have enjoyed racing as individual competitors, but this camp taught them a new style of sailing as a team.

Our Open Night and Open Mornings were a great success with many lovely students from our contributing schools visiting and participating in a wide range of activities. Our girls were wonderful guides and hosts for the visiting girls and families. We were amazed at the wonderful range of talents and activities on show from all departments and areas within the school.

A Dunedin winter is never an ideal setting to wake up early to, yet on Saturday 2 July, a small group of four Year 12 Chemistry students, Sam Taylor, Erin Ford, Lily Chilcott, Sarah Jocelyn and Chemistry Teacher Dr Phillips, headed out well before 9am to the Chemistry laboratories at Otago University. The purpose of this was for the programme “Healthy Harbour Watchers”, which is under the leadership of Andrew Innes.

Team Nautilus - Computer Science Champs!

In the Information Science Technology Challenge (ISTC) competition schools competed from all over Otago and Southland. Our team, 'Team Nautilus' consisted of Vanessa Sinclair, Olivia Eustace and Alysha-Jo Nolan. The girls were asked to use computer technology to solve a real life issue.

Spirit of Adventure

Spirit of Adventure - Georgia Cushnie

Recently I have returned from a trip of a lifetime, on Voyage 719 aboard Spirit of Adventure, which took place over 10 days departing from the Auckland Harbour. Spirit of Adventure is an exciting journey where you and 35 other people you’ve never met before, aged 15-18, get to jump on board a 35-million-dollar ship for 10 days to learn how to run it and venture through a series of different places.

SPORTS BLUES CRITERIA
