Colin Hammond (Principal)

Colin began teaching at Okains Bay School in May of 2017. He is a rugby mad and has many roles in the rugby arena. Okains Bay is the "jewel in the crown" of the peninsula. Colin has over fourteen years as a principal and 11 years in the senior leadership role at Paroa School (1998-9), Northcote School (1999-2002), South New Brighton School (2002-2010), and Bamford School (as Principal - 2010-2017).

Jade Gardner (0.8 teacher) - currently on parental leave

Jade has been employed in 2021/2 as 0.3 principal release and 0.5 Board-funded junior school teacher. She has come from Lincoln Primary School and is a scientist!

Lisa Denton Jones - fixed-term replacement for Jade Gardner.

Lisa has been employed as parental leave cover for Jade Gardner until Jade is ready to return to our kura. Lisa works Mon- Fri (all day Thursday and half Friday as Principal release.)

Deb McDonald- Teacher Aide:

Deb  - Employed to lift literacy and numeracy at Okains Bay School. We are so lucky to have someone as experienced as Deb.

Krystal Thacker - (Office Manager)

Krystal is the school Office Manager. She works on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday. Krystal is a superb organiser, and enjoys gardening and camping over the summer months.

Dianne Wilson- Cleaner

Di does a superb job at cleaning the school and has three tamariki at the school.

Di Wilson -Healthy School lunches organiser

Di is our Healthy School lunch organiser and does an amazing job! The Ministry of Education fund this programme for our tamariki.

John Pachnatz-

Packy is the school Caretaker and does a superb job in and around the school.
