Sport at Ormiston Junior College: Providing multiple pathways to student success
Makia GIBSON - September 3, 2021
We value sports at Ormiston Junior College. Term 2 is always the busiest term for many sports, and as such, OJC had 14 teams participate in a variety of competitions over the term. Some of these included junior and senior basketball, football and netball. We are proud of all of our teams who personified our School's values of integrity, relationships, innovation, hauora, excellence, and innovation. All teams had a successful season, but we would like to highlight and extend our most effusive congratulations to the 1st XI Football Boys team for winning the Counties Manukau Junior Championships and the Y7 & 8A Netball girls and Senior boys team for winning their respective grades at Howick Pakuranga Netball.
Volleyball at OJC is a keenly pursued sport. Accordingly, we host a weekly Monday night competition for our senior teams as they prepare for their season in term 4. These teams train all year round and have demonstrated exponential growth over the last few terms and are looking forward to excelling in their season!
