This week an article appeared on the BBC website. It is a story on Mike King, the mental health advocate who toured New Zealand on a moped to raise awareness of adolescent mental health issues. In this video, our assembly, where he spoke, is featured. I have included it with this newsletter.

The Samoan Prime Minister Susuga Tuliaepa Aiono Dr Sailele Malielegaoi has been on a week long tour of Dunedin. Current students and old boys' as well as staff and the Rector have been involved in his busy schedule.

Last year, during the term 3 holidays, I had the amazing opportunity to go to Outward Bound in Anakiwa, just north of Picton.

On June 6, our school competed in the New Zealand Choral Federation's Big Sing Competition. Schools all over from Otago came to the town hall, and each performed three pieces, ranging from pop to classical. There were 20 school choirs, who all shared a common interest regarding the love of music.

During period 4 on Thursday, our Year 12 students walked down to the Town Hall accompanied by staff members to view a range of exhibits.

For three days, our Level 3 Earth and Space Science boys carried out their 3.1 Investigations with the support of Steve Cutler and his team of postgraduate students at the NZ Marine Studies Centre in Portobello.

On Thursday 31 May the annual Otago Secondary Schools Cross Country was held at the Kaikorai Valley course in sunny conditions but a heavy track under foot.

As part of our School House Competition's 'Community' component OBHS is once again supporting the Octacan Appeal for the Foodbank run by Presbyterian Support.

The interschool fixture between OBHS and Christ's College will be held in Dunedin on Tuesday June 12.
