Otago Boys’ High School is a Year 9-13 secondary school for boys. It was established in 1863. Today there are over 800 students, including approximately 150 hostel boys and a small number of international students, enrolled at any one time.

All of you have a uniform which you should be proud to be wearing. At Year 9 level the Dean takes special note of how the uniform is worn and the pride with which it is worn. It is important all items of uniform are clearly named.

House Singing Competition

School Song

by OBHS

The school song was written by DWM Burn in 1909. ‘Follow up Otago High’ was selected after a competition to find an appropriate school song that would create a ‘feeling of enthusiastic loyalty to the school.’

House Haka Competition

School Haka

This original school haka was received with ‘vigorous applause by the boys to show their approval’ (1909). It has since had several changes.
