Last week I attended the Association of Boys' Schools of New Zealand conference in Wellington.

I remember the competition most. I came to Auckland Grammar School in 1993 as a sixth former, having been schooled my entire life in Ruakaka, south of Whangarei - Ruakaka Primary School first, and then Bream Bay College. 

This morning our Junior school was treated to a hugely entertaining performance by the New Zealand Theatre Company's "Shakespeare, as You Write it".

This week our Art students are highly appreciative of the completion of their purpose-built, modern learning stations.

Otago Boys' has twenty students enrolled in the Gateway Programme (including six at Otago Polytechnic) for 2016. Students are placed with employers within an industry they would like to pursue upon leaving school.  Over the coming weeks we will showcase both our students and employers.  

On Friday evening Jayden Henderson piped the Knox College rugby team onto the field at Forsyth Barr Stadium for their match against Selwyn College. Knox College won 19-12, this was the curtain raiser for the Highlanders v Crusaders Super Rugby game.  Another fine example of our students participating in the community.

The winter interschool fixture between Otago Boys' High School and Southland Boys' High School will be held in Dunedin on Wednesday 25 May.

On Wednesday the Caversham Road Race was held at King's High School.  OBHS had two junior and two senior teams take part.

Otago Boys’ were well represented at the annual Otago Secondary Schools’ Futsal Tournament in Dunedin. Nine teams in all, competing across the junior and senior divisions.
