It has been an absolute privilege to be part of the governance of a school that offers such a unique combination of academic challenge, sporting endeavour, cultural richness and tradition.

Look after your mates. This was an idea that was often a trademark in addresses from the ex-Deputy Rector of Otago Boys’, Dougal McGowan. 

Year 13 students shared some reading time with pupils of Mornington School this morning. 

A few months before I was getting on a plane to Auckland, my Dad told me about his time on the Spirit of Adventure (the ship before the Spirit of New Zealand) and told me what a cool and great experience it was. That's when I decided to go on a 10 day Spirit of New Zealand voyage. 

Congratulations go to Hayden McAlister, Andrew Medlicott(Y11), Bailey Cavanagh Welch and Kelvin Weston(Y10) for their success in the National BrainBee competition.

Nathan Briggs and Nathan Hill were invited to present their science projects to Sir Jerry Mateparae, Governor General, on his recent visit to Otago. 

Now hanging in the library is a beautiful artwork made in 2015 by Year 13 student Brandon Scott-Smith.

Year 12 and 13 Outdoor Education classes are on their Dunedin Journey to learn more about their own back yard. 

A battle of Whovians took place in the library last Friday in our Doctor Who Quiz. 

Students travelled with Mr Twaites to Otakou Marae last week to attend the Science Wananga which was held over three days.

Recently the Rowing boys and parents enjoyed a Sunday dinner at Zucchini Brothers Pizza and Pasta Restaurant.

While we follow the progress of the Otago Boys’ old boy Hamish Bond the NZ Seven’s and Valarie Adams road to Rio. One of our community is part of this Olympic qualifying dream.

The annual Logan Park Road Race was held on Tuesday 10th May.
