Over the Easter holidays the hall floor was painted with markings for a mini basketball court and two mini badminton courts

At the beginning of 2023 we signed up for additional support and monitoring of our Year 5 & 6 children's on-line activity. This is through a company and platform called "Linewize."

School was closed on Monday 24 April for a Ministry of Education Teacher Only Day.

After many years of not being able to have a library at school we were all very excited to be able to open up our Pop Up Library this term

Mrs Taylor has been working with a very keen and talented group of children who are going to perform at the Northern Bays Arts Festival at the Bruce Mason Centre on Wednesday 14th June.

All parents and whānau of children who are new to OVS are invited to a Mihi Whakatau (Welcome) on Friday 12 May at 12.15 p.m in the school hall. You will receive a formal invitation to this and we ask that you let us know if you are able to attend. The Mihi Whakatau is our school's formal welcome to you all, and it acknowledges our commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and our bi-cultural heritage, along with our very diverse school culture. Our Kapa Haka will perform some waiata.

We are going Pink! On Friday 19 May we are supporting Pink Shirt Day by having a Pink Mufti Day. Children are asked to wear as much pink as they like and bring a gold coin donation for the Pink Shirt Day Appeal. Pink Shirt Day is about working together to stop bullying by celebrating diversity and promoting kindness and inclusiveness. It is about creating communities where everyone feels safe, valued and respected.
