Matariki is officially celebrated on Friday 14th July this year, which is in the school holidays. We are going to celebrate on the last day of this term with a craft afternoon of making lanterns and stars and the junior and senior kapa haka groups will perform. In the morning, the tamariki and staff will make some shared kai (soup) to have alongside their lunch. You are invited to come along from 1.00pm if you would also like to have lunch with your child/children and then join in with the arts and crafts from around 1.30pm to enjoy this with your tamariki.

The teaching of maths has changed substantially over the past 10 years. As you may know our staff have been participating in their own maths learning this year to enhance and refine their teaching strategies. We wanted to share a little of this with you and some ways that you could help at home. At the bottom of this article is a survey that we would really appreciate you filling out, it should only take a couple of minutes. Thanks.

On Friday 23rd June at school we will focus on positive and proactive messages with Pink Shirt Day. We’d love to see as many children as possible participating in PINK SHIRT DAY. It’s NOT a casual clothes day it’s an ADD PINK DAY. Anything pink will do or everything pink would be amazing.
