Room 12
Kay Kala - December 2, 2022
By far, the greatest journey in room 12 has been the development of play. Our children are increasingly comfortable, to share resources and the same physical space. It's a beautiful thing to see our children learning together. This has extended into the playground where we often see children sharing the sandpit or trampoline.
Messy play featured all year, as does water play - the only difference being everyone gets completely wet in summer. As well, we have extended our children to enjoy different spaces throughout the school. This is helpful when we have events in different classes.
2022 saw a change of teacher in the year. I came part way through term 2, and i'm constantly amazed at the progress in individual journeys. Routines were formed by then and it was seamless to fit in.
I've got the best job. I genuinely enjoy coming to school. You'd be amazed at the laughs we have each day. Our teaching assistants, Helen and Kate, are so invested in our kids. Helen has probably lost count of the number of bounces she's done on the trampoline, or how many laps of the field she's completed through playing chasing games. Kate is always there - she has these ideas and solutions to help in all areas of the class. She's fun and engaging, and the kids adore her. She has a knack of getting kids to do things. We are so lucky to have Sonia and Sonja connected to room 12. Together we make an amazing team.
We would like to thank all our parents. Our hope is that you too, have seen the growth in your child. We have appreciated your communication, the class runs better when home and school work together. Lastly we would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas. We hope it is full of fun and laughter.
