KORU Certificates Bring Pride and Smiles!

Each term our students are awarded with KORU certificates to acknowledge the many ways in which they demonstrate our Pītau-Allenvale school values of Kindness, Ora, Resilience and Uniqueness.

Acknowledging positive behaviour that demonstrates school values is one of the key parts of being a PB4L (Positive Behaviour for Learning) school. The interaction between members of the school community that occurs when positive behaviour is noticed and acknowledged builds self esteem and  relationships and increases the likelihood of that positive behaviour occurring again.

Acknowledgement can come in many forms, it might be a smile and a thumbs up, a verbal acknowledgement of appreciation or something more formal like a certificate. Check out the proud faces in these pictures of a few of our students over the term receiving certificates to take home and share with whānau and friends. Well done everyone, kei runga noa atu koutou - you're the best!

Improving Our Wellbeing: ORA in Team Kea

Ora health and wellbeing is about taking care of ourselves, both physically and mentally. It's about feeling good and being healthy in mind and body. This includes things like eating nutritious food, getting enough sleep, exercising regularly, and taking care of our mental and emotional well-being.

In Team Kea we have been learning about making choices that help us to live a healthy life. Health and wellbeing go hand in hand so that we can feel our best and enjoy life to the fullest.

We have learned about how our body functions and stays in good shape by eating nutritious foods, exercising regularly, and getting enough sleep.

One of the ways that we look after our ORA in Team Kea is by participating in regular exercise. We are involved in a variety of activities throughout the week, including community walks, Special Olympics sport sessions, Yoga, swimming and visits to the movement room.
