Reporting to Parents

Pleasant Point Primary - June 15, 2023

Students’ progress and learning goals, as well as news of what’s happening around the school, is essential information for teachers and parents to share. Here is how we will keep you informed.

Newsletters

School newsletters are issued on a fortnightly basis, with a flier being sent home in between newsletters. Newsletters are a primary means of keeping parents informed and are numbered sequentially. Newsletters and fliers can be emailed to parents/caregivers. Team or class newsletters will also be issued so that parents are as fully informed as possible about events happening around the school.

Written Reports

A mid-year report will be issued for each student at the end of the second term. A comprehensive written report will be issued in December.

Parent Interviews

Parent Interviews will be held in Term 1 to set appropriate individual goals for the students and to discuss how they are settling into their new class.

Interviews will also be held at the end of Term 2 to discuss progress, their mid-year report and to identify needs for the second half of the year. Students are encouraged to attend these conferences and have an active role in the goal-setting process.

Meetings with teachers can be arranged at other times as the need arises. This should be done with the teacher or through the school office.

The Principal is available to discuss matters with parents. Please arrange appointments through the school office.
