This week's onsite meeting involved a walk through the teaching block building. We can see the architectural plans coming to life and appreciate the layout of the building. It feels spacious, with great access between breakout spaces, maker spaces and main learning spaces.
Breakout spaces will provide opportunities for small groups of children to work independently with great visibility through glass windows and doors. The maker spaces will have cooking facilities and art areas with sinks, ovens, and flooring that can cope with messy activities.
Teachers will have separate workspace/resource areas between learning spaces and there will be dedicated spaces for music teachers, the school counselor, and other external specialist teachers.
On the site, the framing for Pitau-Allenvale is partway up, and then work will begin on the framing for our administration and hall building.
Keep an eye on the site as you drive down John's Road.
