Over the past two years we have been working with the Ministry of Education Property team to identify some design problems and the cause of some water tightness issues. The Ministry has contracted a firm, Prendos, to carry out remediation work in 2020. This will involve redesigning and replacing the roof, adapting some of the exterior features to improve the security of the building and replacing interior ceiling tiles and lighting.

Prendos will manage the whole project which will be funded by the Ministry of Education and is separate to the planned major development also scheduled to begin in 2020.

Relocatable classrooms will be brought on site early next year so that children will be working away from the construction area. It is expected the work will take 10 weeks.

The first step involves planning and consent before construction begins. We will update you as things proceed.
