This is the first time Queen’s High School has entered this international competition and we were delighted with the result. The tournament requires teams of six or seven Year 9 and 10 students to choose one of four challenges, from the areas of Science and Maths, Social Sciences, Arts and Drama or Language and Literature. Billie Allan, Chloe Gray, Melanie van Heezik, Annalise MacDonell, Tallulah Costa and Lydia Butler were selected to represent the school at this tournament.

Winter Sports Photos, Cultural and Service Group photos will be taken on Thursday 26 September in the Village area.

The Senior A Netball team travelled to Nelson for the annual Tournament.

The Showcase of Dance is always a great night for the Queen’s Dance community. There were performances from dance students ranging from Year 9 to 13, showcasing the work they have put in throughout the year to achieve in performance and choreography standards.

At the end of each Netball season we have a friendly game against the Queen's Ex-Girls.

Seven Year 9 students participated in the annual Get2Go Adventure Racing event organised by Hillary Outdoors.

The Year 10 Food class was asked to take part in the University of Otago and The New Zealand Institute of Food Science and Technology Curious Minds program.

A number of Year 13 PE students took up the opportunity to head to Coronet Peak for a ski trip.

Three Year 9 and six Year 10 girls competed in the annual Alliance Française Concours Oral on Saturday 7th at Columba College.

A huge thank you to the Lions Club of Balmacewen who have provided our community with this emergency defibrillator. It is available for anyone to access - to be given the security code you just need to call 111, as per usual emergencies. We hope it doesn’t need to be used, but are very glad this is available for our community to access should they need it.

Queens Challenge is a Learning Support Dept initiative which ends with a camp at the end of the year for the senior students from Learning Support.
