Over the Holiday break, Olivia Gray, Katie Hawkins, Devon Wilson, Asia Tapealava, and Stella Wispinski travelled with a combined Queen's and King's group to Cambodia and Laos on a World Challenge trip for three weeks.

The Queen's Debating team got underway with a bang this season.

Year 12 and 13 Early Childhood students have been actively participating with the children from the Queen's Preschool. During the year the students run activities both here at school and at the preschool gaining experience for their NCEA qualifications.

Over the last few weeks the students in Food Technology have been busy. Recently Year 11 students have been practising their knife skills under the direction of Chef Julie and assisted by Chef Nicky. Safe and correct use of knives was the focus of the lesson where the students made salad in a jar.

Queen's had a great return to equestrian events last weekend gaining 4th place overall in an inter-school competition held in Mosgiel.

Last week students from Leibniz came to visit Queen's and King's High Schools.

Well done to Mereana Martin who achieved excellent results in the 2020 Southern Regional Championships held at Waikouaiti and Warrington in February.

This programme has been developed by the University of Otago to help young women from schools across the city, who are in Year 12 and who have leadership potential, but do not already have roles and opportunities to develop their confidence and skills in leadership.
