Common Assessment Activities (CAA) - Literacy and Numeracy

In Week 8 (12-16 June), RSHS will be conducting the Literacy and Numeracy Common Assessment Activities (CAA) on Tuesday and Thursday* for all Year 11s and a selection of Year 12s and 13s. The CAA timing is set by the Government and must happen during this week.

Tuesday and Thursday will work as 'exam days'.

If your student is in Year 12 or Year 13 and is not required to sit these assessments, they will be expected to be working from home. This will be recorded as study leave.

Year 11s and the Year 12 and 13 students involved in the CAA are required to bring the following items on Tuesday and Thursday including:

  • a fully charged device with an attached keyboard
  • wired headphones (for use with the assistive technology, Polly)
  • a calculator and ruler (Numeracy only)
  • any other stationary they might need
  • For those sitting two CAAs on the Tuesday, we recommend bringing a charger for their device to allow charging during the lunch break prior to the afternoon session.

It is vital for all students participating to be well-prepared and arrive punctually at 9.00am or 12.45pm in order to start the assessments in time.

CAA Instructions for students and whānau can be found at the following link.
